Administrative files, 1922-1978.

These are the general files kept by the Chief Examiner of Public Accounts. Included are correspondence with state and local officials and state citizens, departmental memoranda, informal opinions from the Attorney General, applications for employment and letters of reference, expense accounts and salary forms, and some pamphlets. Topics of the materials concerned requests for audits, audit procedures and laws governing audits. Some of this correspondence was created by predecessor agencies: Dept. of Examiners of Accounts; Office of State Comptroller, Division of Departmental and County Audits; and Dept. of Finance, Division of Examiners of Public Accounts.
